Plants and flowers have always held a special attraction to me. I'm not sure the reason for that, but I have found endless interest in
painting them. There is so much to see within. We so often walk right by small things without looking deeply.
Almost without exception, there is a surprise waiting to be found - in the unusual shape of an interior part, an unexpected color, or in the
structure itself. Often the colors are intense and demanding, and other times the colors are soft and whispered. To me, the delicacy
balanced against the tenacity of plants and flowers is something of beauty and mystery.
Painting them, larger than life, leads me into wonderful discoveries! My goal for the viewer is two-fold: to capture attention and to
boldly describe the beauty I find within.
