Since about 1997,
I have been painting wooden bowls as decorative objets d'art.
Each one is painted with a unique floral or fruit or vegetable design; a type
of still life on a concave surface.
They make a beautiful focal point in any room of the house.
Each is rendered in
bold, lively color and often has intricate patterns of metalic and/or complementary
colors.
The bowls are functional as well as beautiful. They are painted with acrylic
paint, signed by the artist, then sealed with many layers of acrylic varnish.
They are non-toxic and hand- washable.
