Watercolor has such beautiful qualities
and watercolor on Yupo paper magnifies those qualities!
Because it is synthetic, the paper does not absorb water. Therefore the pigment sits on the surface and dries,
but while it's doing so, colors may mix a bit and they tend to dry in unusual and uncontrolled patterns.
It gives an almost magical effect!
Mountain Blooms, from my series Magical Vistas, is contemporary and tends toward an abstract painting.
